With Young Women Who Win, you are matched with a female mentor in a supportive relationship based on mutual respect, trust, listening and learning — where you both are enriched as you realize your goals.

Young Women Who Win is a mentoring program for teen girls in schools throughout Palm Beach County. A nurturing woman in the community will spend one on one time with you for four hours each month during the school year.

Mentoring relationships are very special.

Your mentor is your champion and advocate and shows up for you in two big ways:

She will listen to you. We all have problems and challenges in life. Having an adult (who is not your parent) to provide a safe space for you to be heard and given advice, if asked, can offer just the right perspective you need.
She will recognize your potential and importance, and make sure you see it, too. For whatever reason, we don’t always feel that great about life or ourselves. Having someone who sees our strengths and inner greatness, despite our circumstances, is very reassuring.

Mutual Mentoring is even more special.

You also become a mentor in the relationship, connecting adults to a younger generation’s dreams and purpose. Adults become mentors because they care, are expanding their own goals, and are enriched by supporting your journey. Sharing hope, vision and plans for the future is meaningful for both of you.

In mutual mentoring, you grow as a leader and listener, ultimately giving back to those giving to you. This idea is behind our value of Uplifting Others:

Sign me UP!

You must be a girl in middle or high school between the ages of 13 to 18.
You must reside and attend school in Palm Beach County.
Make sure you’re willing and able to commit a minimum of four hours per month with your mentor virtually or in-person.
You must commit to participating in YWWW’s events and activities.

Your parent/guardian must sign the permission form.
Once accepted into the program, you are matched with your mentor.
YEP’s Program Coordinator checks in monthly throughout the school year to support and monitor your mentoring relationship.
At the end of the school year, a Closing Ceremony takes place where all mentor matches meet and celebrate in a festive venue!
